The engaged artist? A reflection on entagled practices
Abstract
Kasia Wojcik is a curator, dramaturg, author, and activist. Between 2017 and 2022, Wojcik worked with Milo Rau as a dramaturg and organizer on the teams behind General Assembly (2017) and The New Gospel (2020). From 2020 to 2022, she was lead curator, alongside Eline Banken, on the award-winning pandemic project School of Resistance. In this spanning reassemblage of memory, biography, and resume, Wojcik considers the intertwining and entanglement of her artistic and curatorial methodologies with Rau and the numerous other teachers encountered over the course of her artistic journey. In this non-linear reflection of a career still in-process, in-transformation, Wojcik tracks her artistic and personal journey through Santiago de Chile, Berlin, Matera, Ghent, Colchane, Athens, New York, and beyond
Keywords: Constitución Nómada, reassemblage, entanglement, School of Resistance, RE:BORDERS
